Ahead of the start of the academic year, students, parents, and teachers can download the Ghana Education Service (GES)-released 2025/2026 Academic Calendar for SHS/SHTS.
The academic calendar for SHS (PDF download) was compiled by BECEprep to make it easy for stakeholders to access the calendar from one single document instead of the scattered image format shared by the GES.
In all, two different 2025/2026 academic calendars for SHS/SHST (Single Track and Transitional) are available in one file.
Per both calendars, the reopening date for SHS 1 double track 2025 has been scheduled for 18th October, 2025, to 20th October, 2025.
Final-year students in SHS/SHTS Single Track schools will start term 1 of the 2025-2026 academic year on 11th October, 2025. Their colleagues in transitional schools will also reopen on 27th October, 2025.
The GES, per the new calendar, has maintained the semester break system instead of the three-term structure.

In a related development, the GES has announced that the CSSPS portal will be activated on from 1st to 8th September 2025 for all BECE graduates whose results have been released. They will be required to confirm their biodata and school choices on the system ahead of the release of schools into which they have been placed on 17th September 2025.
