The Suggested Solution: BECE English Mock Questions And Answers (Article Writing) – Set 3

CHALLENGES OUR SCHOOL IS FACING AND HOW TO SOLVE THEM
By Ama Serwaa, Basic 9

Every school aims to provide the best environment for teaching and learning. However, our school is facing certain challenges that affect both students and teachers. These problems need immediate attention so that academic work can improve. This article explains three major challenges and suggests ways to solve them.

One of the challenges is the inadequate classroom furniture. Many students sit on broken desks, and some even share chairs meant for one person. This makes writing difficult and distracts us during lessons. The school authorities can solve this by repairing the broken desks and appealing for support from the district assembly and old students.

Another problem is the poor state of our library. The books are old, torn, and do not cover the new syllabus. Because of this, students do not visit the library often. To solve this, the school should request new books from the Ghana Education Service and encourage parents to donate reading materials during PTA meetings. A clean and well-arranged library will also attract more students.

The third challenge is the lack of a proper science laboratory. Science lessons are mostly explained without practical demonstrations. This makes it difficult for students to understand experiments. The school can solve this by setting up a simple laboratory using locally available materials while requesting support from NGOs and science-related institutions.

To draw the curtains, I believe that these challenges can be solved if students, teachers, parents, and authorities work together. When the right support is given, our school will become a better place for effective teaching and learning.
