This post on the 2025 BECE result release date is by the Educational Data Insights Team at BECEPrep.
The anxious wait for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results is a rite of passage for students, parents, and teachers across Ghana. The big question on everyone’s mind is always the same: “When will the results be released?”
While the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) works diligently behind the scenes, we can turn to historical data to find patterns and make an educated prediction. In this post, we analyse a decade of BECE results release timelines to give you the most accurate forecast for the 2025 results.
A Decade of BECE Result Timelines (2014-2024)
To understand the future, we must first look at the past. Here is a breakdown of the BECE examination end dates and the corresponding results release dates for the last 11 years. We’ve also calculated the number of days it took for WAEC to release the results each year.
- 2014: 84 days
- 2015: 91 days
- 2016: 89 days
- 2017: 80 days
- 2018: 78 days
- 2019: 77 days
- 2020: 89 days (Note: Exam schedule affected by the COVID-19 pandemic)
- 2021: 101 days
- 2022: 96 days
- 2023: 90 days
- 2024: 99 days
What Does the Data Tell Us? Key Trends in WAEC’s Release Schedule
Analyzing this data reveals several key insights into the BECE results release pattern:
- The Overall Average: Over the past 11 years, the average time it has taken WAEC to release the BECE results is approximately 89 days, or just under three months.
- A Recent Shift: It’s important to note a trend in more recent years. From 2021 to 2024, the average waiting period has been longer, averaging around 96 days. This could be due to a variety of factors, including an increasing number of candidates and enhanced verification processes.
- The Fastest vs. Slowest Years: The quickest turnaround was in 2019, with results released in just 77 days. The longest wait was in 2021, which took 101 days.
Predicting the 2025 BECE Results Release Date
The 2025 BECE concluded on June 18, 2025. Using our historical data, we can forecast a likely release window.
- Based on the 11-year average (89 days): If WAEC follows the long-term average, we could expect the results to be released around mid-September 2025.
- Based on the recent trend (96 days): If the more recent, slightly longer timeline holds, the results would likely be released closer to the end of September 2025.
Therefore, based on a thorough analysis of the past decade, it is reasonable to anticipate the 2025 BECE results will be released sometime in September 2025.
How to Check Your BECE Results (The Official Way)
Once the results are released, it is crucial to use the official portal to avoid misinformation. Here is the trusted and authoritative method:
- Purchase a Results Checker Voucher: You will need a serial number and PIN from a valid voucher.
- Visit the WAEC Portal: Open your web browser and go to the official results website: https://eresults.waecgh.org/
- Enter Your Details: Carefully input your Index Number, select the Examination Year (2025), select the Examination Type (BECE), and enter the voucher Serial Number and PIN.
- Submit and View: Click “Submit” to view your results. You can save or print this page for your records.
The wait for examination results can be stressful, but understanding the historical patterns can help manage expectations. While our data points towards a release in September 2025, remember that this is a prediction. The official announcement will come from WAEC.
However, since the 2025 BECE has not suffered any financial challenges from government and the BECE was written in June. The results could be released earlier than the projected date. At the time of writing this report, WAEC had completed marking and investigations into alleged mass cheating. Based on this, the results can be released any moment from now.
