Ahead of the release of the 2025 school placementย for BECE graduates, the Ministry of Education has disclosed key facts about the SHS/TVET placements to be released on 17th September 2025.

According to the Ministry of Education, the 2025 school placement will be merit-based.
This means that students will be placed into one of the schools they chose if they meet the fair criteria for placement.
The MoE added that per the merit-based placement, students will be ranked for placement using their aggregates obtained from 6 subjects.
These subjects are the four core subjects and 2 best electives.
Where there is a tie, the raw scores of the candidates will be used to resolve it.
For instance, if there is only one slot left for students being placed in PRESEC LEGON but there are two students with 8 ones, the Ministry of Education will add the raw scores of the two students and place the student with the highest raw scores.

The 2025 School Placement will be a Zero Tolerance for Fraud exercise.
Fraud in the name of placement buying has been on the increase since 2020, and the Ministry of Education is keen on winning the battle against this. It has consistently indicated that there will be no room for any group of persons to engage in the selling and buying of placement into various secondary schools. This will ensure fairness and placement of candidates based on their performance.
Students to confirm their school choices from 27th August to 1st September.
