GES reinstates Teacher Kwadwo after his 2021 exit: Facts Checked

There has been jubilation following the trending news sighted by BECEPrep that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has reinstated Teacher Kwadwo after his 2021 exit from the service. Our checks shows that several online new portals covared the story which has since gone viral.

However the GES has reacted to the news. It has revealed that Teacher Kwadwo, has not been reinstated into the Service in the post signed by Daniel Fenyi,  Head of Public Relations at the GES.

GES reinstates Teacher Kwadwo after his 2021 exit:

In a post by the GES on its Facebook page, it dislcosed that “The attention of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been drawn to reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that Mr. Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has been reinstated into the Service.”

Hence the news about his reinstated in fake and should be disregarged.

“The Ghana Education Service wishes to state that the report is false. Mr. Owusu Afriyie has not been reinstated.” The statement further stated.
The GES has opened a new window of opportunity to Teacher Kwadwo in the same statement as it called on Teacher Kwadow to reach out to the new GES if he holds a veiw that his 2021 dismisal was wrong.
“However, if Mr. Owusu Afriyie believes that his dismissal, which happened in 2021, is contestable, he is encouraged to submit a formal petition in writing for due consideration.” The GES said.
The service further called on the public to disregard the false reports.
Below is a brief message captured from the fake story the GES has reacted to

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is making significant progress toward reinstating Teacher Kwadwo, the educator and satirist who was dismissed in 2021 under what many described as arbitrary circumstances. His removal from service drew public concern, with education stakeholders and members of the public questioning the fairness of the decision.Teacher appointment lettersGES refresher training

Education officials indicate that the reinstatement process is part of wider reforms aimed at strengthening trust and fairness within the teaching profession. For many teachers, Teacher Kwadwo’s case became a symbol of the struggles educators face when they voice concerns about challenges in the system. His return, they say, would help restore confidence and encourage open dialogue in the sector.
